Steffen Kortmann

I am a researcher at Fraunhofer FIT and the IAEW at RWTH Aachen University, where I also completed both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Since 2023, I have been working here and pursuing a PhD on the topic of deployment planning for battery storage systems and their impacts on electrical distribution networks. In this context, I have been involved in both German public and European research projects with a focus on the development of control algorithms and business models. We use both optimization methodologies and learning-based control techniques with artificial intelligence.
