Florian Schmidtke

I successfully completed my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Computer Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Power Engineering in 2020 with a Master of Science degree. Since then, I have been working at the Chair of Active Energy Distribution Networks at RWTH Aachen University and at the Fraunhofer Center for Digital Energy at Fraunhofer FIT.

As part of my work in publicly funded research projects as well as in contract research projects for ministries, I have gained extensive experience both in a managerial and a research role. My focus is on issues of future network operation and its digitalization as well as the implementation and analysis of related demonstration tests in laboratory environments. My dissertation is dedicated to the multidimensional application of flexibility technologies in the context of multi-use deployment strategies. The focus is on the operational harmonization of conflicting objectives of different actors, which I investigate through the development and analysis of suitable concepts and system architectures. Through my work, I have in-depth scientific knowledge of current and future developments in the field of electrical distribution grids.
